It’s all too often that a new blush catches my eye, even if I already have 358230 similar shades to it. Maybe the shimmer is a slightly different color, or the undertone isn’t quite as pink ….etc. No matter the rationale one thing is crystal clear- I have a severe weakness for any and all types of blusher.
It’s no surprise, then, that when I heard that NARS was releasing two new shades in their iconic formula (and limited edition too) for their holiday collection that I would most certainly be indulging. And so I did.
NARS Daydream Blush
Daydream is a peachy-pink with a slight shimmer. A shade that is oh-so-typical for me. Upon first glance it reminded me of Deep Throat (a favorite of mine).

Daydream has a lovely formula. It’s smooth and pigmented and blends easily into the skin. It is similar to Deep Throat but those who were never wowed by Deep Throat or thought it wasn’t quite pigmented enough will be impressed with Daydream. It’s less shimmery and more pigmented than it’s famous sibling. Intimate and Glisten are both more shimmery and gold than Daydream, but all are similar in tone.
NARS Coeur Battant
WOW. Can we just pause for a moment and appreciate the absolute beauty of this blush?

There’s really no comparison here. No shade I own comes close to this blush in formula or pigmentation. It’s easily my favorite blush purchase of the year. If I could recommend one blush to splurge on this holiday season- this would be it. It’s limited edition (supposedly, though NARS frequently adds LE items to their permanent line). I wouldn’t risk it. Pick this blush up and avoid the regret you’ll feel later. Honestly, I didn’t know a blush could be this smooth and this pigmented at the same time.
NARS nailed it with these blushes. If I had anything bad to say about NARS blushes in the past this has wiped that slate clean (*cough* Liberte *cough*). I’d highly recommend picking up both of these blush but if you can only get one, get Coeur Battant. You won’t regret it!
