Happy Wednesday all! I hope this week has been treating you well. It’s been sunny in my part of the world, and unseasonably warm, so no complaints here! I wanted to give you a quick preview of a new blush out for spring that I think everyone needs to know about. Why? Just take a look at this:
Isn’t she gorgeous? It is the same gelée formula Estée Lauder used in the extremely popular Modern Mercury highlighter (and the subsequent Topaz Chameleon and Shimmering Sands palette). The pyramid design is unique and eye-catching, almost as much as the way the shimmer catches the light. It blends in smoothly and is that hybrid formula that you can’t help but love once you touch it.
You can see just how fine the shimmer is when you get up close.
I also did some comparison swatches to some blushes in my current collection to see what came close to it:
Swatches L-R (shade): Bobbi Brown Platinum Pink, MAC Subtle Breeze, Benefit Bella Bamba, Estée Lauder Tease, Tom Ford Lovelust
Swatches L-R (sun): Bobbi Brown Platinum Pink, MAC Subtle Breeze, Benefit Bella Bamba, Estée Lauder Tease, Tom Ford Lovelust
Of all the shades I swatched Bobbi Brown Platinum Pink was closest, but is much lighter and frostier. I can’t use that as a blush, only as a highlight. Lovelust is much more coral in tone, while Bella Bamba is darker and has a slight coral lean to it as well. Subtle Breeze doesn’t contain shimmer and is deeper.
All in all it’s a very unique blush to my collection and the texture/color payoff alone make it worth it’s $40 price tag. I wouldn’t hesitate if you are interested in this blush. The gelée products are notorious sell outs and can become difficult to find if you wait too long. It’s currently available on the Estée Lauder website (here).
I think this is the best blush release for spring I have seen yet!

This is quite pretty, Danielle! I actually don’t LOVE the pattern, but the shade is gorgeous! None of the spring collections have called to me too much yet, which is good, but that could change in a heartbeat
