Yes, it’s time for another MAC collection again! I know the seemingly endless line up of bi-weekly releases can get a bit over the top, but sometimes there are some beautiful gems hidden amongst the massive onslaught of new items. Heavenly Creature is no exception. I am admittedly not the biggest fan of the mineralize line. I usually love the way the shadows look in the pan (wicked awesome) and end up never using them because of fall out (grrr), or needing to use them wet- in both circumstances I really can’t be bothered on a daily basis. Nonetheless I did pick up a few things that caught my eye.
Star Wonder MSF
I don’t use MSFs a whole lot, but this one intrigued me because of the color combination. It’s stunning in the pan and isn’t chunky when swatched as some of them can be.
Clockwise from left: TheBalm Cabana Boy, Milani Fantastico Mauve, MAC Star Wonder, Milani Berry Amore, MAC Plum Foolery
Swatches L-R: Cabana Boy, Fantastico Mauve, Star Wonder, Berry Amore, Plum Foolery
Star Wonder is more pink than the others but they are all definitely in the same family, with Plum Foolery being the darkest.
Ring of Saturn blush
Again, I love the mineralize blushes in the pan but for some reason I don’t reach for them as much as I should. This is a stunning shade, although much less red on me than I had imagined from seeing swatches online prior to getting it.
L-R: Korres #44 Orange, MAC Ring of Saturn, MAC Stereo Rose
Swatches L-R: Korres #44 Orange, MAC Ring of Saturn, MAC Stereo Rose
The Korres blush has the best formula of the three and is my favorite it terms of color. Ring of Saturn is like a marriage between #44 Orange and Stereo Rose. I know Stereo Rose is impossible to find, but Ring of Saturn (at least on my skin) comes fairly close.
MAC Fire Sign
I have no idea what drew me in to this shade. Don’t get me wrong- it’s lovely. But, it’s not something I would normally think, “Gotta have that!” about. *sigh* Maybe it’s because I have been gravitating toward so many products that look so similar (*cough* peach/coral *cough*) that I wanted to venture out, and so I did.
L-R: MAC Viva Glam Cyndi, MAC Fire Sign, MAC Cockney
Swatches L-R: MAC Viva Glam Cyndi, MAC Fire Sign, MAC Cockney
Cyndi is kind of close, but more coral and less berry; while Cockney is definitely much more red and not berry at all.
Wearing MAC Fire Sign
See? How gorgeous is that on the lips! Bonus, it’s teeth brightening as well
Cut A Caper was also repromoted in this collection. I had purchased that shade back when the Tartan Tale collection launched in 2010, but I was happy to see it again as it’s a beautiful (wait for it) peachy coral. =P
Swatches L-R: (all MAC) Flamingo, Fresh Salmon, Ever Hip, Cut A Caper, Costa Chic
If this looks familiar that’s because I recycled this swatch photo from an earlier post (see here). Can’t blame a girl for taking a short-cut now and then
I just wanted to re-illustrate the differences between it and some shades you might already own.
Wearing MAC Cut A Caper
These are the kinds of shades I live for. <3
MAC Pleasureseeker Lipstick
This is a Glaze formula (very similar to Lustre in my opinion) so it’s more sheer, shiny and has some sparkle to it. I enjoy the shade and do think it suits my skin tone.
Wearing MAC Pleasureseeker
It’s a nice muted peachy-nude and you can see some of the shimmer comes through on the lips as well.
Clockwise from left: MAC Reel Sexy, NARS Belle De Jour, MAC Pleasureseeker, MAC Razzle Dazzler
(comparison swatches below)
MAC Galaxy Rose Cremesheen Glass
This might be my favorite of all the items I purchased. The formula is lovely- not at all like MAC’s infamously stickey/thick Lipglass formula. It’s creamy and smooth and actually reminds me of the Revlon Super Lustrous glosses at the drugstore.
L-R: Buxom Michelle, MAC Galaxy Rose, NARS Strawberry Fields
I didn’t necessarily have anything that came too close, but I wanted to show some comparisons anyway.
Swatches L-R: MAC Reel Sexy, NARS Belle De Jour, MAC Pleasureseeker, MAC Razzle Dazzler
Razzle Dazzler is probably my favorite of the group, but Pleasureseeker is a nice shade. You can see that Reel Sexy is the brightest, most pigmented and that Belle De Jour is much more nude.
Swatches L-R: MAC Galaxy Rose, NARS Strawberry Fields, Buxom Michelle
Let me take a moment to digress: Strawberry Fields may be my most (or in my top 3) favorite NARS purchase ever. It’s such a gorgeous gloss! Anyway, Galaxy Rose is in the same family, but lighter and more pink. Michelle is darker and contains quite a bit of shimmer.
Wearing Galaxy Rose
Another shade that’s super gorgeous and flattering. I can’t believe how great the formula is! Why can’t make make Lipglass this way?!
I am pleased with the items I picked up, especially Galaxy Rose. Like all MAC Collections you have to hurry (grrr x2) if you see anything you like. Are you hearing choirs singing or is MAC’s halo looking a little tarnished with this release?

Girl i ordered me the same MSF and blush from the collection! When i saw photos of the swatches of this collection, they didn’t even impress me. But in the pan they look just freaking awesome, so i had to get something. If i had more money right now i would have gotten more
This cremesheen glass looks so pretty too
Ooo I like most pieces you picked out, especially Ring of Saturn! I might have to check it out when the collection rolls out here
I really have lusted after cut a caper and the swirls in the blushes look amazing! Great haul!
I don’t know if I just haven’t noticed before, but your teeth are so white! What’s your secret?
PS Galaxy Rose is so up my alley right now — I’ve been dying over juicy watermelon shades.
Fire Sign!! Must get! I think this is the first MAC item I’m actually really liking the looks of in a long time! You picked great things as always Bloomz!
I really love the formula of cremesheen glasses! I’m always drawn to the sparkly MAC glosses, but the smooth, non-sticky cremesheen glasses actually feel worth the money on the lips.
Wow, thanks for the many swatches! Galaxy Rose is such a pretty color. I have Stereo Rose and am so glad I got it!
Star Wonder is just cute. I love looking at the swirls and I think the color is also nice. It reminds me of NARS Orgasm. Do you think they’re similar?
Sigh…love those Buxom lip glosses. They’re seriously amazing!
I know! They are one of the few “plumping” formulas I can actually use!
They’re all so beautiful! I love staring at MSFs too but know I’d never reach for them in person. The one MSF blush I had was sold during the blog sale and I don’t miss it one bit. I’m starting to live for “those colours” now, too. I blame yooooooou~
<3
I want every shade you’re showing here! Well, at least the lip shades
I don’t own any MSF’s and I doubt I ever will, though I do really like the Mineralize blushes. And I want that Korres blush bad!! Every lippie you’ve shown a) looks fantastic on you, and b) I want for myself! Pleasureseeker and Galaxy Rose just looks so pretty, and Fire Sign is great! Good haul, Danielle!
