I just got my Hay Sailor! package in the mail today and wanted to share some swatches and comparisons with you. Please remember this is NOT a review- only swatches and photographs, initial thoughts.

The packaging is a nautical blue and white stripe theme that I thoroughly enjoy.

I was surprised at the pigmentation of these shades because the textures seem slightly drier than usual (Barefoot being the best of the bunch). I swatched all of these without a primer so rest assured pigmentation isn’t lacking here. Feeling Fresh was the driest of the four I purchased. Some have suggested this is similar to MAC’s Wondergrass. I don’t have that shade so I can’t say whether that’s the case. All three liners felt smooth gliding on and are nicely pigmented. I was most looking forward to Jaunty, Barefoot and Handforged (because I looove gold) and they didn’t disappoint.
Sail La Vie
Red Racer
Swatches L-R: MAC Viva Glam Cyndi, Red Racer, Runaway Red, Scarlet Ibis, Hibiscus, Sail La Vie, Neon Orange
Both of these lipsticks are highly pigmented and creamy. Sail La Vie is drier, while Red Racer feels almost buttery on my lips. I don’t have anything quite like Red Racer, but Neon Orange and Sail La Vie are similar- with Sail being less loudmouth orange and a little more red.

Overall I am pleased as punch with my choices and know I will enjoy these shades throughout the summer. Did Hey Sailor! tickle your fancy or will it leave port without you? Dish!

I try to resist MAC when I can, but I’m loving the golds too Danielle! Barefoot and Handforged both look lovely….now I have to decide whether I want it in shadow or pencil form

do you know how sail la vie compares to so chaud?
Hi there- I don’t own So Chaud and have never swatched it personally but I looked at swatches online- they seem fairly similar. On some skin tones it looks like So Chaud can pull coral put in other pictures it looks quite orange. If So Chaud pulls orange on you it’s probably more similar to Sail La Vie than not.
I’m absolutely loving my Jaunty and Red Racer! I agree about the texture of Red Racer, so smooth and enjoyable!
