Get Smokin’ Eyes With Dior Smoky Khaki Trio

This post has been a looooong time coming. I am trying to catch up on reviews from items I purchased months ago (think October of last year!) and while perusing through unpublished photos found that I had never posted about this amazing trio. A crime, really, considering how gorgeous it is. Luckily it’s permanent so no worries about not being able to find it. ;)

Isn’t she GORGEOUS?! It’s hard to believe I purchased this during Sephora’s VIB sale last fall…we just had another VIB sale last week! Time flies, doesn’t it?!

*Anyway* I love the design of these compacts. The top cover slides back to reveal the shadows and a mirror pops up. Total travel-friendly palette. You can actually use the brushes that come with it- I find they apply the shadows better then regular brushes do.

The formula of the shadows is buttery and soft. The colors coordinate for the perfect eye look, no fuss and no muss. I have no issues with creasing or fading but I generally use a base of cream shadow or primer. The gold is a phenomenal all over shade, but I admit it’s the sparkly green that won my heart.

Wearing the Smoky Khaki Trio.

I am going by memory here on what other products I used in this FOTD (taken back in January) and I think the main ones are: Jemma Kidd Light as Air Foundation in Light/Medium, Stila Love At First Blush, MAC Flamingo lipstick, Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara,

The Dior Smoky Trio compacts come in a variety of shades for $48 and available at Sephora and anywhere else Dior is sold. Have you tried these trios yet? What color combinations do you like to wear the most?

I have not tried these (yet) but really like the Dior eyeshadows. I have the ‘in the garden’ limited edition clutch and while those are neutral shadows (which kind of bore me), I find myself reaching for this on days that I want a ‘lighter’ look.

I am holding out for the summer collection to arrive. I want to try some of the new palettes!

But right now I am still in <3 with Pale Barley and Midnight Brown from Burberry

Dior is so drool-worthy in the compact but so sheer and almost natural on the eyes… I prefer intense pigment so I often resist indulging!
