BLUSH!!! OK, I worked hard this morning to get lots of comparison swatches up for those who are trying to decide what blushes to get. I haven’t had time to review or test these for wear time yet, so this is really for color choosing purposes only. I will say that all of the blushes went on smoothly, evenly and all but one have a nice sheen (not shimmer) to them. These are some of the finest MAC blushes I have ever tried, in fact. I have tried two of them on my face and the color payoff is excellent.
6 new limited edition blushes are being released: Full of Joy, Immortal Flower, Peony Petal, Mondern Mandarin, Pink Tea, Lovecloud
What I really wanted to do was show the differences or similarities between these new shades and shades I had from a variety of brands in my collection already. I hope this helps!
MAC Pink Tea

Pink Tea is a lovely, natural and neutral blush. Pink Cult is closest, but it’s more grey and has a completely matte finish.

Peony Petal is closest to the Stila blush, but it’s lighter and less pigmented and has a sheen to it. The Stila Blush is completely matte. I would say if you have the Stila blush to skip Peony Petal. You can sheer out the Stila blush enough to make them look *very* similar when worn.
MAC Lovecloud

I also feel like Lovecloud (lovely as it is) could be skipped. Tarte Dollface is incredibly similar. Dollface is permanent so if you wanted a color like this you can easily pick it up from Ulta or Sephora any time.
MAC Full of Joy

Full of Joy is proving to be a popular choice. I have seen many people say that their stores are already sold out of this blush on pre-order. That’s crazy! Anyway, it’s most similar to Azalea Blossom- but it’s lighter. They are definitely on the same vein. I tried Full of Joy on last night and actually enjoyed the way it looked on me. It’s personal preference but it is a rather unique shade.
MAC Immortal Flower

I really thought this would be darker. It’s quite a light peach compared to others that I have. It was also the least pigmented of all the blushes in the collection. It’s lovely, but if you already have plenty of peaches in your collection I don’t know that it’s a must-have. But, it’s definitely different than the other peaches I own, as you can see. I just expected something…different I guess.

I am actually shocked that Modern Mandarin doesn’t have a dupe in my collection. I am also pretty surprised at how coral it is. When I think of Mandarin I think more of orange, and this is definitely more coral. It’s a beautiful blush and definitely worthy of purchasing. In person NARS Gilda is darker, but probably the most similar. Once again though, it lacks the sheen the MAC one has.
Overall I would definitely recommend Modern Mandarin and Pink Tea and Full of Joy if you are into those kinds of colors (I am). I would skip Lovecloud and Peony Petal if you already have something similar, and if you have access to the ones I mentioned that were very close. I am on the fence about Immortal Flower- the pigmentation wasn’t what I expected, but it is a nice buildable shade and ends up being pretty unique.

What fantastic swatches! I really appreciate the sheer amount of time & effort it took to put this post together! It is very useful to see the colors compared to such a variety of other blushes. I didn’t realise how similar NARS Douceur and Tarte Exposed are.
Are there any differences between them?
They are similar, but definitely different. Exposed leans more pink and is more pigmented, while Douceur is sheer and leans much more brown.

Thanks so much for this! I ordered Modern Mandarin online two days ago, but I also just received Tarte Tipsy in the mail. Do you think they’re similar enough that I don’t need both? And if so, which would you say would be better to keep? Or would you say they’re different enough?
You’re asking a blush addict here, so keep that in mind
…but yes, I think they are different enough. Tipsy is a bright, pinked coral-completely matte and lasts all day on my skin. Modern Mandarin has a sheen, and leans more orange–though not traffic cone orange…a very wearable coral-orange. Both are lovely! I would be hard pressed to pick just one. I tend to prefer the Tarte formula to MAC blushes by far, but this formula feels different- smoother, yet still so pigmented. Having said all that I realize that not everyone shares my passion for blush. If you live in a place with a good return policy you can try them both out and return the one you liked less. 
Don’t feel bad about returning a product, that’s why companies have those policies in place- so consumers can try them and if they are not fully sold on it or unsatisfied they can return. Hope that answered your question (the long, round about way!)

I would say Pixie Pink is probably closest to Peony Petal. I don’t own Pixie Pink but I did look up swatches and it seems similar. I hope that helps!

It depends. Pink Tea is probably more universal, and I do like the sheen it gives. Pink Cult is more pigmented but that gray in it may make it harder to wear for some skin tones. Both are lovely!

I’m ordering some new limited edition products from a friend’s blog sale & wanted to see how Modern Mandarin compared to similar shades & brands as I unfortunately missed out on some of these limited edition products when they came out. Definitely going with Modern Mandarin as it’s absolutely gorgeous & I’m getting it cheaper than it was when it was released. Now I’m hoping to find Pink Tea really soon!
