FOTD feat. NARS Paramaribo and Mexican Rose

I promised I would do a FOTD (face of the day) with some of the new items from NARS spring 2012 collection that I swatched for you yesterday, here, and well, I never go back on my word! ;)

Mexican Rose is stunning, and Paramaribo pairs so well with it too. I was surprised by how much I liked the two together!

The oddness of these two colors make them a true gem in my collection. I loved how this looked on my eyes and against my skin tone. I can see myself reaching for this often!

Such an easy look to do!

Product Breakdown:

Face- Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Nude, Garnier Anti-Dark Circle Roller, MAC MSFN Medium Plus, L’Oreal Magic Smooth blush in Angelic

Eyes- UDPP, NARS Paramaribo duo- dark shade blended all over lid and in crease, lower lashline, lighter golden shade patted on inner half of the lid and inner corner,  MAC Blanc Type to highlight an blend, tarte Amazonian clay liner in rich green, Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara, MAC Charcoal brown + Moleskin mixed to fill in brows lightly

Lips- NARS Mexican Rose Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil

Do colors like Mexican Rose or Paramaribo scare you off, or do you like “the bolder the better” kind of shades?

Wow I really like his combo, and it looks great on you. I might have to take another look at the eyeshadow duo. ;)

  2. !!

I haven’t been all that excited for Paramaribo (with my skintone? Bleh!), but it looks amazing on you! And it pairs so well with Mexican Rose – they’re both so distinctive, but they somehow manage to work together instead of competing for attention.

    Love the look, hon! ;o)

  3. Sarah S. says:

Prettiest I’ve seen with this eyeshadow duo. Perfect-looking gold on you ^.^

  4. Amanda says:

those colors look gorgeous on you!!!

  5. Looks great on you!! It’s amazing with your skin tone and eyes!! I was at the NARS counter today but the girl was at lunch and the other ladies didn’t know where she hid the new stuff! grrr I’ll have to go back this weekend! LOVE IT!

    • Danielle says:

Thank you Tracy! *hugs* Can’t wait to hear your thoughts/see if you pick anything up! I bet Mexican Rose would be killer on you!

  6. Krystal says:

OMG, that lip pencil is too beautiful! I really like it!

  7. Victoria says:

I LOVE the color of that lip pencil! Not too keen on pencils myself but I’d love a lipstick shade like that :)

    • Danielle says:

Ooh, I will have to keep an eye out for a lipstick of this shade, it will be perfect this spring and summer for sure! I will let you know if I spot anything ;)

  8. isabella says:

love the lip color! i totally need brighter bolder lip colors in my collection >_< it kinda reminds me of the fun colors from iris apfel collection

    • Danielle says:

You are right, Isabella. Now that you say that, it does remind me of Party Parrot a little! I love bright/bold lips for spring and summer!

  9. I totally get scared off by bold colours! Love seeing them in the tubes/pans but I wuss out when it comes to putting them on my face. Mexican Rose really suits your complexion! You look great!

But I did wear red lips today (for once)… and I think I owe it to the Bandits. It felt empowering. :)

  10. Arianne says:

AHHHHH the lip pencil. I need it!!!

    YOU LOOK SO GOOD.

    (I’ll stop yelling now.)

    • Danielle says:

haha! Arianne, I can always count on you for the funniest comment on ANY post. Seriously. Thank you dear, and yes, yes you do.

  11. Kristi says:

That looks gorgeous on you! I’m wavering on the lip pencil – great color but I really don’t like pencils that must be sharpened. So ready for a brighter lip & spring-y colors even though we just had our first snow flurry of the season last week!

    • Danielle says:

I hear you Kristi, on the snow and the sharpening. We just had our first snowfall of the winter about two weeks ago and I am already dreaming of spring…wishing it faster with pastel polish and bright lips! ;) The sharpening doesn’t bother me so much here. You use SO little of the pencil it will last a very long time without needing to be sharpened in my estimation :)

  12. Tiffany says:

Both Paramaribo and Mexican Rose look AMAZING on you, Danielle! I’m especially in love with Paramaribo. I can’t resist a good gold shadow :) I love the green liner with this look too!

  13. Christine says:

This looks gorgeous on you, love that NARS duo :)

    Xoxo, Christine♥

  14. Love love love the lip pencil!!
The eyeshadows go very well together too, but my “coup de foudre” is for the lip colour!
