If you follow me on twitter you know that this lipstick is pretty much all I have been talking about this evening. Which lipstick, you ask? Oh, just a little thing that looks like this:
Lancome released this little gem of a <limited edition> lipstick in their Spring 2012 collection. Isn’t she darling? I guess this is probably my most favorite lipstick packaging EVER.
But, it’s what’s on the side that counts the most, right?
Her name is Cotton Candy (according to the Lancome website, but my box calls her Soft Marshmallow??) and she is of the Gourmand Color Bare Lips Sensation descent. That’s a mouthful so let me break it down for you like this: it’s a glossy/sheer lipstick that feels moisturizing on the lips.
And why wouldn’t it feel moisturizing? Check out two ingredients that caught my eye (thanks to Larie from Eye Heart It for prompting me look at the ingredients list)!
*Side note for the grammar police- I realize I switched between subjective and objective pronouns in this post, but just go with it
Not my traditional swatch format, but the left is Lancome Cotton Candy and the right is MAC Flamingo, just for comparison sake. The Lancome lipstick is definitely more pink and more glossy.
And here she is on this lips! A stunning shade and formula. I can’t vouch for wear time but I can say this is one of the more silky lipstick hybrids I have used. It actually feels moisturizing, as opposed to just feeling glossy.
Do you *need* this? Let me put it to you this way, does a dog need a bone? OF COURSE! It’s the single item from all of the spring collections I have seen that is positively radiant in every way and worthy of splurging on. It’s available now from Macy’s, Nordstrom’s, and Lancome’s website.

SkinCareRx has

AAAACccccckkk! But I want the YSL Milky Pink one!!! Which one do I get now haha? It’s so pretty!
I say, THIS ONE. Of course, that’s just me, but this packaging is too awesome to pass up!
Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. I need this. For the packaging, for the color, for how AMAZING it looks on your lips. WANT!
Yet again, Danielle, you’ve made me want something!
♥ Jessica
Ahhhh! I know you will LOVE this Jessica!
Thanks!
This is absolutely gorgeous on you AND you are such a gem – when I saw your pic of it in the tube I actually wondered how it would compare to Flamingo and then I scrolled down and you had the picture for me right there. Awesome!
Aww, thanks Michelle!
I kind of thought that might be a question some would have, so I tried to prepare in advance!
That is a gorgeous shade of pink!!! I will have to check out that lipstick since I don’t own anything from Lancome.
It really is! Definitely! I have a few of their shades, but this one is my favorite for sure!
I tried to buy this at Nordies today and it was sold out already! UGH! NEED IT!
Oh no! I got mine from Nordstroms online, but I know my local Macy’s had them still. I hope you can find one!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH late night cravings, beauty blogger style!!!
lol! So true!!! <3
Not even gonna lie, I would half buy that for the packaging. It’s such a cute shade too
That’s what sold me on it!!!
The formula is very nice though, too!
Wow..this looks like a gorgeous soft glossy pink. Definitely something I’d love. Can’t wait for it to be released! x
It really is! The perfect little spring treat!
This is so pretty! I love the packaging! I might need to go get it before I leave France
Bisous!
You definitely should! It’s a stunning little lipstick!
I think I just added another lipstick to my makeup wishlist..
oooh!
This is worthy of having in your collection dear! So So pretty!
Thank you for posting the ingredients!
I think I like this one better than Flamingo…and the packaging, omg!
No problem Larie! I am going to try and do that more often (I hadn’t really given it a thought before!) the packaging is just !!!!!

Oh no! I love this packaging (and the formula) but if your tastes lead you to fancy something else, I am sure that there are other pretty lipsticks waiting to be had!
Not only is the lip color beautiful but the packaging as well. I want it!
I know, Laisa! The packaging is what sold me, but the formula keeps me happy now that I own it!
Oh I am very much liking the look of Lancome’s Cotton Candy, delicate and lovely pink as I like.
(touch being a feminine word and all that)
It would be “La” French touch though
lol! I had no idea! Actually, Lancome must have got it wrong, because they have “Le French Touch” on the box and on their website
Or, maybe it’s referring to something else? Who knows, either way it’s gorgeous, right?!
So pretty! I’ve got to pretend I didn’t see this now
lol!!! It was too cute to pass up!
*fans self*
I don’t know why, but I was expecting the bullet inside to be a rose or a red or a warm nude. So I prepared myself for all three, but then you opened it and alskdjf! It’s so gorgeous, I have no words. I think you’ve just sparked my interest in bright pink lipsticks. This is going to be bad…
On another note, I kind of love the fact that they added “Le” in front of French Touch hehe
Me too! It just makes it sound more chic! I know, I am just sort of stepping in to pink lipsticks like this and it’s dangerous territory!!!
Cotton Candy is really pretty, but I LOVE Mac Flamingo, so I can’t be partial when comparing them. Beautiful swatches, like always!
Hope everything is well,
Maria.
P.S. I wrote a post recently featuring my favorite beauty blogs and I listed yours, so you might like to check that out

Me too! Flamingo is a stunning shade in it’s own right. Cotton Candy is equally lovely, but in a different way.
Thank you SO much for including me on your list. I am beyond honored!
Soooo cute. I love how light and moisturizing it looks. Thanks so much for sharing
xo
Hi Christina! Your description is excellent, that’s exactly what it is!
Oh, so pretty! I need to get this ASAP! It looks great on you.
Thanks so much Tamara! I am loving this little tube!!
looks beautiful Danielle.
PS the package arrived safe and sound on Tuesday.I just want to say thanks again for this opportunity.I’m loving all the new goodies I have especially the Mac lipstick as it’s my first one.
It’s not a color i would have picked for myself as it’s dark but i actually love it. Your lovely message was very touching.Thank you also for your kind words.
No problem Diane! I am glad it arrived safely. I hope you enjoy testing everything out!
bahhh!! i _<
I really love the colour of this Lancome lipstick, looks really lovely on you. I just hope it suits my olive complexion, I love pastel pinks. Off to buy!
Oh, thanks Abida! I bet it will look stunning against your skin tone! Enjoy it!
Thanks for the awesome swatches, it looks beautiful on you. I’m trying to find out if the Cotton Candy shade would suit my Light to medium skin tone (NC25-30 in MAC) or should I go for the Rose Candy, which is brighter/darker?
Your are so welcome! I am NC25-NC30 in MAC and Cotton Candy works well on me. I think either way you will be able to rock the color! If we had the other two colors available in the cute packaging here in the US I might have chosen a different shade (Sweet Marmalade for instance) but Cotton Candy is a lovely spring shade. I hope this helps!
Thanks so much for the quick reply and I’m so glad to know that it will work on our skin tone. The bullet looking-packaging is really gorgeous and unique, so I will be ordering mine very soon. Have a happy weekend!
No problem! I hope your weekend was fab!
