After my initial haul, here, I visited my local MAC counter and swatched the rest of the collection in person and knew there were some other items I needed to add to my list. This is what I ended up liking in person:
This time around I picked up another Mineralize Blush in Subtle Breeze (beautiful spring pink), A Perfect Day Lipstick, Twilight Falls Mineralize Eyeshadow and Party Parrot Lipstick. I wanted to do some quick comparison swatches for you in case you are still trying to decide what you want to purchase from this collection. Enjoy!
This is going to be SO pretty as me move into spring (wishful thinking on my part, anyone else over winter now that Christmas is gone?) lol.
Tarte’s Amazonian Clay blushes in Dollface and Blissful are too pink and too peach, respectively. MAC Fleur Power has too much coral/peach to really be similar. Dollface was the closest I could think of in my collection but it lacks the sheen that the mineralize formula gives off.
Twilight Falls is a stunning brown/taupe with multicolored sparkle. In tone it closely resembles that of Satin Taupe (at least when dry). When used wet it’s quite a bit deeper and the sparkle is more pronounced. Great shade, but not a must have if you already have Satin Taupe.
I LOVE this shade! I ignored the nude lipsticks in this collection until seeing them in person. I tried on Beach Sand as well and it was far too beige (go figure) on my lips. This lipstick has perfect in the name for a reason…it’s perfection!
I’m no stranger to MAC nudes, as you can see from the above photo. Creme Cup is much more pink, while Freckletone is more brown and Creme d’Nude is lighter, more milky. Now, Patisserie is actually extremely close in tone, but it’s quite a bit more sheer. If you like Patisserie, you will enjoy A Perfect Day because it’s like Patisserie’s more pigmented sister.
ELECTRIC!!! Party Parrot is definitely the life of the party. WOWZA. So bright! This formula is amazing. So creamy and easy to apply, it was like buttah-which is saying a lot because it’s a matte formula.
Again, Party Parrot is extremely similar in tone to Impassioned, but it’s formula is more pigmented. If you love Impassioned, you will probably enjoy Party Parrot for the color but longer wear time. Similarly, if you already have Impassioned, you may not feel the need for this shade. I can tell you on the lips Party Parrot is brighter, more electric looking than Impassioned, more than likely because it’s a matte.
Swatches L-R: Flamingo, Fresh Salmon, Ever Hip, Cut A Caper, Costa Chic
Now I posted about Flamingo last week, but it sold out very quickly once the collection went live online. I thought I would add comparisons swatches of what it looks like to other MAC lipsticks. The closest would be Cut A Caper, but even then it’s more peach while Flamingo leans more pink. Flamingo is the most pink of the group, and appears more pink on the lips than the others as well. All of these lipsticks except Costa Chic are/were limited edition.
All in all the Naturally and Iris Apfel collections did not disappoint. There are SO many options to choose from and everything I tried I am totally happy with.
