Finally! My Cream Blushes: Peach/Orange/Coral/Nude.

I promised SO long ago that I would swatch my cream blushes and I feel bad for  taking my sweet time about doing it. But, it’s here now, after receiving a number of requests to post this baby ;) . The first in the two part series (as the name implies) is going to focus on my orange, peach, coral and nude blushes. The pink/red/purple blushes I will do in another post. You will see one or two in this post, just for comparison’s sake because they are from the same brand and I figured it would be helpful to see them together.

Enjoy, and I hope this helps when it comes time to buying your next cream blush. :D

I think I might have to ACTUALLY buy Nars Cactus Flower rather than swatch and put it back every time I’m in Sephora. It looks scary in the pan!

    • Danielle says:

It does look scary, but it’s a very gorgeous blush! For a cheaper option, pick up MAC’s Fabulush CCB…it’s extremely similar in color!

  2. Ashley says:

    Have: Illamasqua Rude.
Want: Illamasqua Dixie, Sonia Kashuk Rosy, Joe Fresh Melon, NYX Orange Cream & Natural… and maybe I should top it off with TopShop’s Head Over Heals.
If only I actually needed everything on my want list :P

  3. kelly says:

whoa MAC Joie de Vivre seems similar to NYC Pink Flash….and fabulush looks similar to cactus flower! say it aint so! i have joie and fabulush but not the others…and both of the others were on my wish list! good to know. are they noticeably different in person? do i NEED cactus flower? hmm.

i know i already want virgin isle…that has been on my list for quite some time (your swatch just enforces this) i REALLY regret not picking up optimistic orange. the color looks divine (even tho im not a huge fan of the cremeblend formula)

ugh flouron, pleasureful, all the illamasqua and topshop look divine. i am blush crazy. this post just put me in a frenzy lol

    • Danielle says:

Kelly, girl I am there. I was blush crazy until last month. Now I am going eyeshadow crazy!
If you have Fabulush, I don’t think Cactus Flower is a need item. They are very similar in person. Exact identical twins? Probably not, but close enough to be cousins and on the cheeks they look the same. Only thing is, the NARS version lasts longer on me.
I found Optimistic Orange at my CCO earlier this year. If you ever want me to get you one when I go back, they always have them in stock! :)

  4. Jessica says:

Oh my gosh, so much pretty! I had no idea Pink Flash and Joie de Vivre were so similar – you’ve given me new hope!

    • Danielle says:

They really are! Also, if you ever want me to pick up Joie de Vivre for you at my CCO I would be happy to do so. They still had some in stock the last time I went…just let me know ;)

  5. Justine says:

Illamasqua Rude is beautiful. I find these posts soo helpful thank you!
I wish I could get my hands on Optimistic Orange.

    • Danielle says:

Hi Justine! Isn’t it? Rude is a great all around blush and shade.
I know my CCO usually has Optimistic Orange in stock. I am sure I will go again soon and if you’d like I can call in advance and make sure they have one and do a custom purchase for you. ;)

  6. MakeYuUp says:

I still need TopShop cream blushers! I love the look of Head Over Heels :)

  7. Tara says:

    Thanks for this post!

I am getting into creme blush more these days. I’ll be using this post as a shopping guide for when i next do a haul!

    • Danielle says:

Yay! So glad it helped! I was into cream blush allll summer long…now that we are heading into fall here, I am slowly switching back to powders.

  8. Romzs says:

Wow, those are all so pretty! I love the Inglot one, very natural! Are MAC cream blushes sticky?

I love this post, so helpful!

    • Danielle says:

I am glad it helped you dear! :)
The old formula which is what all the MAC ones I am showing here are more tacky. But I find they last longer than ones that aren’t as tacky/sticky. They blend out easily with a stippling brush though. :)

  9. Sabrina says:

I only have 1 or 2 cream blushes and I haven’t fallen in love yet. Virgin Isle looks promising though….I can’t remember if that is one I have or not but I need to check!

    • Danielle says:

It definitely took me awhile to get into cream blushes. I always felt my skin was too oily, but now that I have experimented with them and found formulas that work with my skin, I absolutely love them! :)

  10. Alison M says:

So I have Sonia Kashuk’s Petal, but Rosey looks lovely. I’ve been wanting, it but have powder and liquid in a similar shade. Blossom is definitely my favorite blush by here though. I love it year round for a more natural cheek. Do you notice a difference in her creme blushes compared to others? I’ve never tried another brand and would love to know if you find a major difference in texture, pigment, sheen, etc.

P.S. Where are you hair pics?! :)

    • Danielle says:

Hi Alison- oh, I will need to try Blossom! I do, I feel like Sonia Kashuk’s are more like Topshop. MAC’s older formula of cream blushes is stickier (depending on your preference that’s either a good or a bad thing). I also find that her’s are more sheer than others, which again is personal preference.

      I twitpic’d the hair pics ;)

      • Alison M says:

Sheer is good for me. I need to learn to wear “wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am” makeup and own it. Maybe if I do a week of FOTDs it would help…

Glad you put up pics. Lovely!

  11. diane says:

men Danielle why oh why post this lovely and useful post of blushes swatches? You made me WANT every single blush featured here but i have no money to buy them.huhuhuhu.i’m crying here.hahah Joke but seriously they all look lovely and GOEGEOUS.i’m a blush addict myself but my collection is teeny tiny compared to yours.i don’t even call it a collection i have like 5 blushes right now…great post can’t wait to see more swatches. ;)

    • Danielle says:

Aww, thanks dear! Believe me, this collection didn’t happen overnight! Visiting CCO’s, doing swaps and slowly buying up shades I liked…I didn’t used to own many either! :) I’m a total blush addict too!

  12. Erin says:

I love my Cactus Flower! I need to pick up Illamasqua Rude :) .

  13. G A B Y says:

Head Over Heels and Natural are my favorite! I have Natural but rarely use it because I still need to get used to cream blushes, but I really wish I could lay my hands on Head Over Heels!

  14. cream blushes became my favorite this summer! nars is the only brand i’ve tried out but after this post I definitely will look into some others :)

  15. Kelli says:

I’ve been trying so hard to get my hands on Virgin Isle, but I think I missed my opportunity! The woman at the MAC counter told me they discontinued it :(

    Gorgeous colors!

Have you ever tried Bobbi Brown cream blushes?
