Helloooooo! I feel like I have been kinda absent lately. I haven’t done a post in several days and have not been keeping up on other blogs or twitter….but for good reason. In the States we celebrated Labor Day yesterday (want to learn more about Labor Day? Visit here for all you ever wanted to know) and it gave me a nice four day weekend. I took that time to relax, spend some days in the great outdoors and just totally chill. I feel refreshed and ready to get back into the game. I hope you all enjoyed your weekends, whether you had time off or not 🙂
If you follow me on twitter you know my obsession for teals and peacock shades is pretty relentless at the moment and so I thought that would be the perfect topic for this week’s Top 5 Tuesday. This is all about teals for the eyes. I will be doing teals for the nails soon 😉
This might be the first time Inglot has appeared on my blog…but not to worry…it won’t be the last! Many more goodies to show you all soon. I am both impressed and thoroughly happy with all of the Inglot items I have tried thus far, and not just their eyeshadows either.
I had been searching for a matte darker teal eyeshadow ever since reading Arianne’s post on Joe Fresh’s peacock shadow. It looked so lovely and perfect for the coming season….sadly I learned it was limited edition. I searched high and low, at Sephora, Ulta, etc and found nary a shade to quench my thirst. I took my struggle to twitter and several lovely ladies recommended Inglot’s matte eyeshadow #338. I am so grateful because it’s exactly what I wanted and SUPER pigmented and silky.
Peacocks/teals come in all sorts of shades. In the fall, I prefer the peacock version of teal which to me is anything darker, deeper, or run through with black. The teals of summer are brighter and lighter and won’t be seeing any time with me once colder temperatures hit (think Urban Decay’s Flipside).
The NARS Rasjasthan Duo that was released for their Fall 2010 collection (already over a year ago!) immediately snagged my attention. It’s a blackened peacock, and it is positively stunning. I know this duo along with Strawberry Fields lipgloss were the stars of NARS fall last year for me, and I am very grateful to own them both. If you ever see them, grab them up because I *think* they were both limited edition.
Another inspired purchase was Inglot’s Pearl #414 (huge thank you to my close friend, Ms. DelytefulSpeaks for sending this my way in our amazing swap). I saw this on Jenny of My Funny Valentine and it looked so gorgeous on her I knew I needed to try it for myself. It is just as I had hoped it would be, and so wearable. And by now you have all seen the gorgeous-ness that is Rajasthan, but I had to swatch it here anyway, for continuity =P
Stila’s smudgestick liners are really top notch in terms of pigment and wear time. Peacock was the first shade in that line I purchased what seems like ages ago, but I think was probably late last year or very early this year. Give these a swatch next time you are at Sephora, Ulta of whoever carries Stila products near you.
Ahh, MAC Fluidline…how I loooove this shade. Midnight Blues. This is from the newest collection Mac Me Over. Pigmented, smooth and oh so fabulous. I am going to be getting a lot of road time with this baby, I am sure of it! A big thank you to my boo Kia, from Killer Lipgloss for picking this up for me.
Are you into the peacock trend or is it just not your kind of color? Have a favorite shade to recommend? I’m all ears!
