Happiest Friday ladies! It’s a holiday weekend so for those of us in the States, that means extra days off and lots of Independence Day celebrations. My mom and I (both being beauty and shopping addicts) decided to take the day and go on a shopping trip. She had never been to the CCO nearest us before (gasp) and so that’s what I suggested. We had a fun time and got some great shopping in. I wanted to pop up a little post to share with you the items I got at CCO. (P.S. A CCO if you aren’t aware is an abbreviation for The Cosmetic Company Store which can sell all Estee Lauder owned company cosmetics at discounts. Some are limited edition items or discontinued products. Others are still currently available in permanent ranges). Enjoy!
I ended up with mostly MAC items. But here is the rundown of what I got for myself:
- MAC Mercenary Nail Lacquer (LE)
- MAC Soiree Nail Lacquer (LE)
- MAC My Highland Honey Blush (LE)
- MAC Joie-De-Vivre Cremeblend Blush (Disc)
- MAC Birds & Berries eyeshadow (LE)
- MAC Glamour Check Eyeshadow (Disc)
- MAC Slimshine Lipstick in Bare (Disc)
- Bobbi Brown Shimmerbrick in Apricot (Disc)
I was so happy to see Birds & Berries there! I couldn’t believe it! I definitely want to go back more often. I paid $10.25 for the eyeshadows (that’s less than a PRO pan ladies) and I don’t recall the prices on the rest, though I think that the nail lacquers were also $10.25 and that the shimmerbrick was about $25. They had a lot of Liberty of London items and Style Warriors items there, in addition to Cham-pale and Tartan Tale things which I hadn’t seen there before. All in all it’s great fun if you do happen to live near one. I always call ahead if there’s something in particular I’m looking for, I don’t know if they all do this, but mine will set things aside and hold them for me until I can get there. A couple of things to note: they will not tell you prices of things over the phone; they aren’t allowed to and they will not ship to you; it’s against store policy. Also, couldn’t show you the haul without sharing some swatches!
A note about Mercenary: it’s such a unique shade with several dimensions. Sometimes it’s khaki-ish, or gold-ish or bronze-ish. I had never heard of this shade before but loved it when I saw it. Normally, I don’t like MAC polishes. So I will see how these fare for me compared to ones in the past. I can’t judge wear time now, obviously as I’ve only just swatched them. But I will report back with how these wore for me in the coming weeks.
Have you ever venture to a CCO? What awesome LE or Discontinued items were you able to snag? Also, I grabbed a pretty coveted item while I was there to give away to one of my readers in the near future!
