It’s the middle of the week, and cloudy yet again. This is seriously the longest streak of gloomy weather ever. Record rain and all of these clouds has made life positively dull. But sun is in the forecast soon! Hooray!
Meanwhile, I took some products for a spin today, and here is what I ended up putting together to brighten this otherwise gloomy day!
So far, the Eyes to Kill Intense shadows are amazing! I love the pigmentation and consistency of them. Full review coming soon, but I bet in the mean time Khaki Pulse shows up at my doorstep Also making it’s debut in this FOTD but I have been using for about two weeks now is the Givenchy mascara. This is by far the best mascara I have ever used. It was recommended in a video (several in fact) by GossMakeupArtist on Youtube. Very glad I took the plunge and picked it up. Full review coming on that item as well!
You will notice I mixed several products to make my “foundation” and have been using this same combo for awhile. I really like the oil control the Tarte foundation gives me, but it’s getting to be a bit thick for this time of year. So I add a bit of tinted moisturizer and a bit of highlighter to it and I am set. I spritz my foundation brush once with Fix+ and I really like the effect this gives my foundation and the added longevity it gives my face makeup as a whole.
How have you been changing up your foundation routine? Have you found something that really works for this transition period into summer?

Sometimes, dear beauty lovers, I get so involved in the collection of more makeup that I completely forget to review or even use a product I was once very excited about. Case in point, many things I got around Christmas time including the Too Faced Enchanted Glamourland Palette. I had waited, stalking Sephora.com, for this palette when it first came out so I could grab it before it was gone. Grab it I did and have rarely pulled out it since the first two weeks I owned it… until just a few weeks ago when I remembered I had it! Such is the life of a makeup addict/collector. Don’t pretend this doesn’t happen to you ALL the time
I haven’t used the bronzer too much, but I really enjoy this blush shade. They are both soft and easily blend into the skin. I have thought of depotting this blush and putting it in my z-palette….but I don’t want to ruin the beauty of the palette. But I think I would use it more if it were with other blushes!
The shadows are sooo phenomenal! The are fantastically pigmented and smooth. And look at those gorgeous colors! I already had Velvet Revolver and Honey Pot in my Too Faced Natural Eye palette, but I don’t mind as those colors are quite lovely. Label Whore is a supposed dupe for MAC Club (first shadow in Row 3). I love the second shade in Row 3, Glamazon. All of them are nice to work with you can create some really awesome looks with this palette. I don’t care for the gloss. It is “plumping” and it makes my lips sting. The color is nice, and the gloss is smooth. But it is rare that I like any gloss with a plumping formula.
All in all this palette was about $50 (roughly) from Sephora. It also came with a full size tube of Shadow Insurance. How could you not love a deal like this?! If it is still around…pick this up. You won’t regret it.
Hello lovelies! Today I bring you a long overdue post about my new found nail polish love…Zoya! They have been having some stellar sales lately, and I finally bit the bullet and ordered some of their polishes. I think in total I paid about $50 and I got 12 polishes! Umm..steal! Check out the colors I indulged in:
The above polishes make up the Intimate Collection for spring. I think this is the best collection for spring by far this year. All of the colors are gorgeous. The formula is flawless and even. The wear well at about 5 days for me. But, are easy to remove when it is time to change them out. I cannot pick a favorite here, they are all wonderful.
These next 6 shades are from the Summertime and Sunshine collections. The cream shades Areej, Breezi, and Keiko apply so smoooothly and cover in one coat. Yes, what you see above is one coat. Fab! Faye, Apple and Rica are equally lovely in shade, but need 2-3 coats to cover. In the swatches Rica is two coats. Apple could definitely use another coat, as could Faye. In two coats Faye is perfect. Apple needs 3. But I wanted to show them in there natural state so you know what you are getting! Faye is gorgeous and a must have if you ask me. I do not have a single other color that looks like it. Apple will be fun to layer over things.
I am happy with my purchase. I like all of the colors I ordered and definitely plan to add more Zoya to my collection in the future. Coming soon is Zoya Pasha. I have it, but haven’t swatched it as of yet. It isn’t new, but I can’t wait to try it out! These retail for $8/bottle on Zoya’s website.
Do you like Zoya? Have you tried their nail polish remover? That is on my list to try as well.
Hello ladies! Glad to be safe in the house, we are having absolutely terrible weather right now! Snow, ice, thunder and lightning all at once…yikes! But safe and warm I can finally bring you the last Milani Baked Blush….Terra Sole! You can see my other reviews and swatches for the rest of the collection here and here.
As you can see above, this one is the only Milani Baked Blush without shimmer. It isn’t bronzey, nor is it tan. Terracotta is more appropriate, hence the ‘Terra’ in the name. But is is more brown than most terracotta blushes/bronzers I have seen which, for my skintone, makes it supremely more wearable. It is a lovely shade and worth looking into. I have heard this can only be ordered online, and I purchased mine through Cherry Culture. I am glad to finally have the full collection!
Annnnnnddddd. Because I recently had my 1000th tweet on twitter, and because I just love those of you who belong to our little community, I wanted to do my first giveaway.
The Prize (1 winner):
I wanted to give one of you the most summer-y blush from the Milani Baked Blush line- Coralina. MAC Phloof! is because that was the very first MAC shadow I ever bought for myself and remains a favorite of mine for brightening the inner corner! This giveaway is not sponsored by anyone, but I did want to mention that I received some of the crackle polishes from China Glaze to try out. You know I am not a crackle fan per say, so I wanted to share this with one of you (never tested it)!
The giveaway ends Saturday April 30th, 2011 at 11:59 PM. One winner will be chosen at random and announced the week of May 2, 2011. This contest is open internationally.
Good luck ladies! And thanks for making this so much fun
