Hellooo ladies! Wednesday again! Time flies…I cannot wait for this weekend. My mom and I are both makeup junkies and we are heading out shopping on Saturday. I hope to find some great items to bring back and share with all you. Share your plans, got anything super fun going on?

When I was in New Orleans …two weeks ago already! :( I stopped by a Guerlain Spa they had down there just to check out what they had. I ended up picking up two things that day, one I am about to share with you and the other I returned. If you follow me on twitter, you know that when I brought it (a very pretty blush) back to the hotel and opened it, it was smashed to bits. So I returned it the next day. What I kept though, was the Guerlain Meterorites Perles Light-Diffusing Perfecting Primer (a mouthful!).

Guerlain Meteorites Primer (Wet n Wild 222c Orange on nails)

I am so grateful that the woman there showed this to me. It is a phenomenal product. I had totally never heard of this before on any blog I read or any Youtube videos I watch, so I didn’t necessarily have too high of expectations. Afterall, if it was so great, wouldn’t everyone and their mother already be using it and talking about it? Normally, I have combination skin, with my forehead being a great big oil slick before 5pm everyday NO MATTER WHAT I TRIED. I mean it, I have tried (and returned) several items that are supposedly “oil controlling” that never do the job. Or, if they do, they make your skin look all flaky and gross (I’m looking at you Urban Decay De-slick lotion!). This wasn’t even touted to me as an oil-controlling product. Basically the saleswoman said that it makes your foundation apply more smoothly, brightens complexion and makes your face makeup last twice as long. I cannot say that it makes my makeup last twice as long, but I can say this is the only product I have ever used that gives a smoothness to my skin without feeling like silicone AND that really prevents the forehead oilies I am prone to. Double-bang! Plus it really does brighten up my skin. Check out below what it looks like on my skin.

Guerlain Meteorites Perles Primer- 1 pump

See how sparkly and light-catching that is???? This is a pretty generous pump. Normally I don’t use that much for my face. I use about a half a pump. This product is going to last a long time. I paid around $65 for this, but it seems to vary slightly depending on what retailer you buy it from. I didn’t know how much it was, but when I asked for the price I had prepared myself for it to be about $90…so I was pleasantly surprised when I found out the actual price! This is the biggest jar of primer I have and for the cost and the multi-tasking it does it is SO worth it!

I also wanted to quick mention my nails. My boyfriend and I were at a Walgreens not too long back and I was looking at their nail polishes. He was with me (such a good sport) and he pointed to this polish (Wet n Wild 222c Orange) and said, “Get that one it’s really cool!” Now, normally, my boyfriend doesn’t have such strong reactions to makeup, so when he does, I go for it man! And when I finally wore this I got soo many compliments on it. Above I am wearing it with two coats, but it probably could have used a third (I am just too lazy most days to bother with three coats of polish, feel me on this ladies?). But I do really enjoy this fun, summery color.

I’ve always been quite curious about this primer. Whenever I’ve been at a Guerlain counter I’ve picked it up to have a look at the little balls floating around in there! I can’t help but think, will the fluid run out first & the balls will be left?

Regardless, it looks & sounds quite nice! I’m going to give it a go the next time I see it :D

    • Hi 25FLondon- I love your blog by the way! Thanks for stopping by!

I thought that same thing myself! But it’s kind of weird, when you pump out the liquid, it almost sounds and feels like its vacuum pressed, so that the little balls will continue to be “smashed” as the pump is compressed. The little balls are what give it the pearly/sparkly effect so I assume whoever designed this container must have known what they were doing! :) You should definitely give it a whirl. My full face makeup applications have become much smoother since I started using it!

(Thanks! I’m enjoying your blog too!)

Ah, makes sense! I seem to keep getting influenced by high-end ‘suggestions’/posts recently – I’ll definitely give it a test when I’m there next, despite the hefty price tag! In the summer I get a little oily, so it sounds like my kind of thing.
