Hello again! Today I am going to show you one of my most anticipated items in a long time….my haul from Stila’s spring 2011 collection. I only purchased two items, but the one item was too cute to pass up on!
I ended up getting the Make Me Blush Palette which is embossed with gold hearts on the first layer and a multi-colored heart pattern throughout. The gold is just an overspray and goes away with one use. The gold is far too strong to wear on cheeks anyway, but it does make the palette look much cuter! The Make Me Blush palette is super soft and super pigmented. You only need a little of this powder to give your cheeks a healthy glow. It does have a slight shimmer/sheen throughout. It is gorg!
If you have the chance, definitely pick this up. It retails for $14 on Stila’s website but I used the code STILAVIP and got free shipping and 20% off so I think I paid close to $11. I don’t know how long the code is good for, but you can only use it once per account. This is a must have for me.
The other item I picked up was the new Stila Coconut Crush. I have two of the other crushes (Mango and Pomegranate) and have enjoyed wearing them on my cheeks. I thought I would give this more bronzey-rose shade a try. I like the color a lot and I know I will enjoy wearing this in the spring and summer months. I don’t care for wearing the crushes on my lips because they have a bad taste, but they blend well and last a long time as a stain on my cheeks. This retails for $24 but again, I got the 20% discount so I paid around $19.
I am very happy with my mini Stila spring haul. Have you checked out the Stila spring collection yet? Head over to their website muy rapido to pick up the Make Me Blush palette for sure! *** After I wrote this post I realize Stila is out of stock on this item right now. No word on when it will be back. For a couple extra bucks you can pick up the same palette along with two lipglosses from Sephora.com here.
I discovered my love for MAC products over the last year and a half. It has become quite an addiction, frequently stopping by the MAC stores and counters I happen to be in the vicinity of. Today I am going to share part of just such a visit in recent past. Lipglass! One of my favorite MAC items.
Both lipglasses are lovely and smooth with that signature MAC vanilla sweet scent. However, once I brought them home they looked sorta familiar to some lipglass I already had….
Strange Potion and Hothouse were both LE from the Venomous Villains collection last fall. Pink Poodle is a lighter, less intense version of Hothouse, and it lacks the multi-colored shimmer as well. Strange Potion and Pink Lemonade are both the same color, but have a different kind of shimmer to them, with Pink Lemonade having quite a bit more shimmer packed into it than Strange Potion. But if you missed out on the Venomous Villains colors, these would be great stand ins! They retail for $14.50 from MAC stores or counters and on the MAC website. I love all of four colors and it’s no surprise I gravitated towards similar colors!
Have any of you spotted the new Physicians Formula Glam collection at the drugstore? I couldn’t find the collection anywhere. I had to turn online for help. I found a reputable eBay seller selling most of the collection (brand new of course) for great prices. I picked up the Shimmer Strips Glam Brown Eyes Gel Liner Trio. I’ll admit, it was totally the gold that pulled me in!
I do enjoy the colors and formula of these gel liner trios. I have another set and it works very well. These lack some pigmentation, particularly the gold, as it is twice layered in the photo. I don’t mind layering, I just prefer it when I don’t have to, ya dig?
Overall, the Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips Gel Liners are a great bargain and give you long lasting high end liner for drugstore prices, if you can find them!
What can $39 buy you? Well, if you stop in to Sephora (or visit Sephora.com) you can buy the Buxom City Slickers Set which includes 4 big and healthy lipsticks and 4 Buxom lipglosses! Umm, deal! Granted, these are not full size, but you get plenty of product for the price.
If you have never tried either of these Buxom formulas, you will be pleasantly surprised with the refreshing minty tingle they both leave behind. It isn’t obnoxious like some lip plumpers (most of them annoy me so much I can never use them). These are refreshing. I love the colors and the fact that they have a matching stick and gloss.
All of these are extremely long wearing, going for at least 3-4 hours on me. They have a great formula for the gloss, not sticky at all. The lipsticks are a bit drying but that’s intentional because they are a liner and lipstick all in one. I like being able to skip the liner step, anything that saves me time in the morning is a good thing!
Bottom line: a great deal for great colors and products. You should check this out the next time you are at a Sephora store if you haven’t picked it up already!
Goood Afternoon all! I have to share my love Sonia Kashuk’s products whenever I can. I have NEVER been disappointed with anything I have bought from her line, whether it’s blushes, shadows, polishes or brushes. It is always top notch. Enter the Paris Night Eyeshadow Quad for $12.99 in Target Stores or at Target.com.
All of the colors are lovely. But the formula is the stand out here. The deep blue has the softest, most buttery formula. I am in love with how wonderfully it blends and applies. All of the shades are beautiful and include are darker silver gray, lighter silver and one of Sonia Kashuk’s signature glitter shadows. This quad creates a lovely smokey eye.
Have you picked up any of Sonia Kashuk’s eyeshadow quads? I have a number of them, and enjoy them all.
